On Monday, December 2nd, 2019, Mid Island Gives and the Nanaimo Foundation will be hosting a learning session in Nanaimo. This session will include a workshop and networking opportunities for peers in the charitable sector.

Jocelyn Matwe is a Shaw Spotlight (formerly Shaw TV) producer and video-journalist with a passion for connecting with people and sharing their stories. With 15 years of storytelling experience, she has written, edited, and produced hundreds of stories about Vancouver Island communities, people, and events. Outside of Shaw Spotlight, Jocelyn has participated in a variety of roles on several short films and documentaries and has served as a selection committee judge for Vancouver Island Short Film Festival (2018-20). She is a past Communications Director for the Young Professionals of Nanaimo and the former Communications Director for the Nanaimo Foundation.

Stu Setch is an award-winning marketing specialist, experienced in creative writing and developing advertising campaigns. He has worked with a range of companies in building their customer base and boosting sales. His strategic and unique approach has helped clients stand out and get noticed.

Laurie Bienert is the executive director of the Nanaimo Foundation.
