Random Act of Kindness Day® is a day to celebrate and encourage others to pay “acts of kindness” forward.
November 6th, 2015 marks the inaugural Random Act of Kindness Day in Nanaimo! Since 2008, this special day has brought Canadian communities together by engaging citizens in small acts of kindness and generosity.
Throughout our community, “kindness cards” and posters have been distributed to various businesses and local organizations to encourage people to perform a simple act of kindness for someone – a neighbour, a friend, a co-worker, or someone they don’t even know – and hand the card over to that person – encouraging him/her to do the same.
Acts of kindness don’t have to cost anything. From holding a door open for someone, sharing words of encouragement, saying hello to a neighbour – these are all the kinds of acts that you can “pay forward” on this special day.
Visit www.nanaimofoundation.com/random-act-of-kindness-day for more info and to see where you can pick up a stack of RAK Cards to share!
Carry out an act of kindness, with no expectation of reward or punishment. Safe in the knowledge that one day, someone somewhere might do the same for you.”
